I feel like whatever I’ll write here, it’s not gonna truly express how cool this wedding was, how perfect the Kingshouse Hotel is, how amazing Cat and Matt are… It was a blast to shoot.
Truly enjoyable few hours in Glencoe. Have a look and first of all - read the bride’s wise words about her dreamy, Highlands wedding day:
"We're not really the kind of couple who loves to be the centre of attention, so when the pandemic hit and big traditional weddings were off the cards, we saw this as an opportunity to have a small, intimate wedding that was definitely more "us". It was really important to us that small didn't mean any less special and, therefore, there were a couple of non-negotiables for the day: a beautiful location and an amazing photographer to capture it. I think from looking through Lena's photos, you'll agree that we more than managed to exceed our expectations on both!!
My advice for any couples getting married in the future is not to "sweat the small stuff". It's so easy to get fixated on the littlest of details (especially during the run up to the wedding), but try to keep mindful of why you're getting married and remember that it's only one day, albeit a very special day, and if things go wrong - which hopefully they won't - take it in your stride and maybe even laugh about it. Most importantly enjoy YOUR day - have everything organised so that on the day all you have to do is turn up and look pretty. Also, if you can, take a few moments during the day to process everything and let it all sink in. One of the benefits of our wedding being so small was that we were able to do this.
Oh and lastly, make sure you can walk in your shoes, or even better bring a comfortable change of shoes!! If your photographer is anything like Lena, expect to be walking through fields and running up hills to get the perfect picture. Without much thought I brought an old pair of Converse hi-tops to change into for the after ceremony shoot and I really love how they look in our photos, contrasting my wedding dress and bridal bouquet."
