Hello, Hello…
It’s one of those weddings where I don’t know where to start the story.
Gosia and Dorota are two wonderful Polish girls living in Scotland, as I’m Polish by myself I get occasional enquiries from Poles living in the UK, but our two brides were the very first same-sex Polish couple I had a chance to photograph here in Scotland. Unfortunately, same-sex marriages are still not legally allowed in my country (shame on you PL government), so I was very excited that it can happen here and that I will be involved in this big day. All the guests were Polish so for lots of them it was the first same-sex marriage to witness. Historical moment.
Another worth to mention element of this wedding was the theme. For the first time in my life, someone decided to implement a GYM on their wedding day, what’s more, we visited Dorota and Gosia’s gym for the photoshoot. Thank you Performance Gym & Supplement Shop Kilwinning for your kindness and allowing us to make girls dreams come true.
Being completely honest taking pictures, I mean taking GOOD pictures on the gym is not an easy thing. It’s challenging place and I’m an artsy person so I was really stressed by this idea, but overall I think I did pretty well and girls were happy too, so I assume mission was successfully accomplished.
Next thing worth to mention was the budget. Dorota and Gosia were renovating their house in this period (of course I used it an advantage fulfilling the story), but they were looking for a low key wedding and… low budget photographer. Well… I’m not made out of stone to ignore clients requests and I offered shorter coverage. I will always repeat over and over again - reduced package with an experienced photographer is always something better than a full day with cheap inexperienced photographer. I’m really grateful that the girls picked wisely.
Last but not least… Who gets married in ‘The Original Horror Show’ T-shirt and jump in their Convers in the deepest paddle? Noone… apart of Gosia and Dorota.
