Danny & William - Lodge on Loch Goil summer, wedding followed by Rest And Be Thankful photoshoot - same sex wedding, Scotland

Lodge on Loch Goil is one of these Scottish venues that don’t really need an introduction. It’s known for its hospitality, great management, perfect food and astonishing grounds with lots of photo opportunities.

I’m always happy to be back there again and it’s been a few weddings already. I have to say that I’m very lucky to shoot there absolutely incredible same-sex couples.

The first wedding ever for me was Nardea and Sasha’s winter wedding which stays in our hearts forever. We are even friends now and the girls brought me a very cute blanket with our pictures as a Christmas gift. Click HERE to check their wedding.

Apparently the couple I want to show here today saw the blog post when they were planning their wedding and one of the photos from Nardea and Sasha’s wedding day inspired them to organise their wedding ceremony in a pretty unusual spot for The Lodge on Loch Goil. Imagine that it was the very first wedding ceremony organised in this spot! Since the beginning of time haha How amazing is that, knowing that my picture made them say ‘hey we want to get married right here’. I was flattered. I need to say it was really a special thing for me that day.

Danny and William are together for ages. It’s very different to photograph couples who are 2 years together and couples who share their lives for so long together. It’s not different in a way ‘more’ or ‘less’ of love. Absolutely not! It’s just the knowledge of each other, being defined as a couple is changing. New couples are still discovering themselves. which is often associated with simply being young, but it’s the same in ‘young’ relationships.

Danny and William knew exactly who they are, what they want, what will express them the most. It made my job easy that day in a way because I exactly knew what they are looking for. That we are not aiming for ‘lovey dovey’ photos. That they want good storytelling, pictures with family and a bit of Scotland.

William and Danny are phenomenal. I love these guys to bits and I’m not joking now. We had a great time on their wedding day. We have a similar sense of humour and it didn’t take us long to meet again after their wedding for a drink in Glasgow haha.
